Ease of Use:  

ShredXP is not as easy to use as some of the other products and is light on the feature options.

Ease of Installation/Setup:  

ShredXP is very easy to install and setup.

Privacy Effectiveness:  

ShredXP supported 20 additional plugins, lower than many of the products reviewed. A plugin is a small piece of interface software that allows your computer to erase the history of the last used files within certain desktop applications like image viewers, graphical editors, chat, email, readers, etc.

Feature Set:  

ShredXP's Internet browser cleaning features included cache (Temporary Internet Files), cookies, and history of visited URLs. The Windows cleaning features included file/slack space, find/search history, Media Player history, recently opened documents, run History, scan disk of temporary files, temporary files/directories, and user selected files/directories. It had no cleaning options available at startup or scheduling capabilities. ShredXP allowed you to overwrite files from 1-35 times and had no special options that most of the other products had available. The product only supported Internet Explorer/MSN.

Help/Documentation:  

It's help and documentation were very good. Technical support availability includes email/online forms. Supported environments for ShredXP only included XP.

Summary:  

Overall, ShredXP is a very good product, but just needs a richer set of features.
